Clay&Ceramic for beginners - hand building techniques
Anmeldung bis zum/Registration deadline: 21.03.!
Mindestteilnehmerzahl/Minimum number of participants: 2 Personen
Do you want to create beautiful ceramics but don’t know where to start? This workshop is for you!
In this 3.5-hour hands-on session, we’ll explore the fundamentals of working with clay and ceramics, guiding you from the very basics to more advanced creative possibilities. Understanding clay is the key to success - it will help you avoid common mistakes, gain confidence, and discover the joy of shaping your own pieces.
You will learn three essential hand-building techniques that allow you to experiment freely, whether you want to make functional objects, decorative pieces, or entirely abstract forms. We’ll also dive into decoration and coloring methods, from the simplest tools you already have at home - like forks, sponges, or brushes - to more advanced techniques such as carving or slip decoration, giving your work a professional finish.
This workshop emphasizes free-handbuilding, but if you have a personal project in mind, bring your ideas! We’ll help you choose the best techniques, estimate the time needed, and guide you in bringing your vision to life.
By the end of the session, your piece will either be ready for firing or prepared for further refinement as a member of the Makerspace community, where creativity and experimentation continue.
