European Solidarity Corps @ BBW Kindergarden "Wurzner Str "

Description

The hosting institution is a children day care center and since 2011 a child and family center in the Leipzig district „Volkmarsdorf“. The kindergarden provides 60 places (including 8 integration places). The most important points for us are: the language education, the cooperation with families and the inclusion of children with handicap. The institution has individual rooms for moving, playing, sleeping and food and a wonderful big garden. The pedagogic work of our kinder garden focuses on open work, the groups of the children are age-mixed and there are spaces for role play, art, handicrafts. Furthermore, there are special highlights during the year like seasonal festivities (connected to events happening in the district as well).

Leipzig

Leipzig is located in the northwest of the Free State of Saxony. The city and its almost 600.000 inhabitants became known throughout the world in the fall of 1989 as the center of the peaceful revolutionary movement in East Germany. It is home to the second oldest university in Germany as well as serving as an important trade fair center. Around 1 million people visit Leipzig every year, enjoying the city's lively atmosphere and diverse cultural offerings.
